I've actually had a lot of fun getting back to my Alpha guys. With the airbrush locked away until my place gets sold, it's a good thing I had plenty of stuff based and ready for brush work!
Man, it'd be great if someone made a metallic paint you could just brush on over anything. As it is today, you've pretty much got to paint black or brown (depending on whether it's under silver or gold) under everything for it to look good. With a lot of steel on these troops, plus some black details, I've got my work cut out for me.
I had a great week as far as setting aside time for painting. After 6-8 hours, I've managed to get all the blacks laid down on 17 troops, plus a few parts on my 'Fiend. Normally I find that kind of work mind numbing, but with work and real estate craziness piling up, that mindless zen brushing was just what I needed.
We'll see if I manage to get any painting in this next week. I've got a lot of momentum going and it'd be a shame to lose it, but my first open house is Tuesday and the place has to be ready to show every day at least through Sunday. Can't leave a bunch of painting stuff sitting all over the dining room table. Boo.
