WIP: Dark Angels Primaris Army - Part 8: Azrael Conversion

The Supreme Grand Master goes primaris!

We kitbashed a Belial for our Deathwing, now let's make a (mostly) plastic Azrael.

Well, that old, tiny metal Azrael model just isn't going to cut it -- especially standing next to Primaris marines. I scoured the internet for ideas, and there was no shortage of amazing conversions. I've taken the best ideas, and worked them into a single model.

The body is the primaris librarian. I shaved off the psyker sigil on the belt and attached the crux and tassels from the primaris captain. I cut down the psychic hood to make room for Brother Balthasar's head from the Dark Vengeance box set-- picked him up on ebay for $6.

The right arm is from the primaris chaplain. I've chopped off the bolt pistol and kitbashed a combi plasma using the bolter from the primaris captain kit, and some spare bits.

The left arm is from the kit, but as I used the hand on my deathwing librarian, I've swapped the primaris captain's hand here, and changed the blade using the DA sword also from Brother Balthasar.

I considered putting a banner on his power pack, but honestly, I'm not really a fan of those. A pair of mechanical wings should do the trick! Stole these from the resin Astorath kit. Pinned and glued them to the pack.

Maybe a bit much, but this guy is basically the Calgar of the Dark Angels, and that dude's ostentatious as shit - so why not? (I mean, have you seen his new model?)

The base is from the 40K hero base kit-- to give him a little height over his troops, and set him apart. (you know, in case the wings weren't enough...)
