SHOWCASE: Grey Knights Stormraven

Put a fork in it.  The Stormraven is done! At more than 2 months and who knows how many hours, this is easily the most time I've ever put in to a single model. Pretty darn happy with how it came out, and I can't wait to field it! Dangerous amounts of model porn after the break.

Today I wanted to share a technique that radically changed how I paint minis.  Airbrushing has completely altered how I paint, what colors I use, and how I go about painting a model from start to finish, especially vehicles and walkers.

WIP: Grey Knights Stormraven- Stay On Target

I set myself a lofty goal of trying to finish the Stormraven two weeks ago.  That was a little shortsighted with the release of Destiny.  I spent enough time sprawled awkwardly on the couch with a controller in my hand that I pretty much destroyed my back (true story).  Still, I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made and have kicked my case of paint-job-disappointment.  Let's see where I've gotten.

I probably could have finished this Stormraven this week, but instead I decided to go full crazy and paint every single detail on the planet. I even took my first crack at NMM.  Check 'er out.

This may be the last model I paint the inside of. It's such a hassle and really, when am I ever going to look inside them? That said, it's finished and looking good. Now on to the good stuff!

Spent more time thinking about my Stormraven than actually working on it, but I've got it all worked out now.  Fully magnetized, and ready to go!

Super excited to be working on a vehicle again.  It's really more my style to spend a lot of time on one model than try to make a whole squad pretty.  This is a complicated model to build and paint, but it's coming along great.
