This squad is taking me just about forever, but they're finally completely assembled, and that certainly gets me more motivated to get back at it.
Now the one thing that I found weird when assembling these figures is that the Power Fist arms aren't really made to fit properly with a shoulder pad. Really? WTH? The power cables on the back side completely prevent the shoulder pads from sitting down on the shoulders- even the stock ones. Did I do something wrong? Hate having to do model work once everything is painted. Fortunately most of this stuff should hide pretty well...except for that glue that exploded everywhere and left a nice big glue fingerprint on the top side of the power fist...and on my girlfriend's dining table. D'oh. Good thing she already screwed up the finish with nail polish remover or I'd be neck deep in it!
Even after chopping the cables off, it still doesn't seat all the way down. |
Well, my team choked the biggest choke in history, giving up a 3-1 lead in a 7 game series with a 96% predicted chance to win, so the silver lining is that TV time will go down and painting time will go back up. As soon as I finish crying. Maybe I'll have this squad finished by December? Will have to try to squeeze in a game soon to get my panting mojo back.

Weird about the power fists. But come to think of it, I've never built a basic marine with one...
